POUNDS, C. J.
Kentwood - C.J. Pounds, 67, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, at North Oaks
Medical Center, Hammond. He was a native of Independence. He is survived by
his wife, Mary L. Pounds of Kentwood; three sons, Gregory Pounds of New 
Orleans, Charles Pounds of Greensburg and Reginald Pounds of Kentwood;
three daughters, Evangeline Corbett, Schnell Porter and Tangie Trotter, all
of Kentwood; two sisters, Madell Duskin of Metairie and Thelma Johnson of
Baton Rouge; five brothers, Eddie Pounds Sr. of Magnolia, Miss., Lester
Pounds of New Orleans, Eugene Pounds of Kentwood, Calvin Pounds of
Gillsburg, Miss., and Alton Pounds of Kenner; 19 grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary
Pounds; one daughter, one son, one sister and four brothers. Visitation
will be today at Spring Creek Baptist Church from 5 to 9 p.m. The Rev.
Elton Strickland will conduct the funeral Saturday at noon, and burial will
follow in Spring Creek Cemetery, Kentwood. Richardson Funeral Home, Amite,
is in charge.

POUNDS, NAOMI
A resident of Kentwood, she departed this life Thursday, April 10, 2003, at
Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, Independence. She was 66 and a native
of Magnolia, Miss. Visiting at MJR Friendly Service Funeral Home, La. 1042,
Greensburg, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Religious service at Tickfaw
Missionary Baptist Church, 6339 Bates School Road, Magnolia, at 11 a.m.
Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Percy Veals. Interment in Spring Creek
Church Cemetery, Kentwood. Survived by three daughters, Alice Fleming,
LaPlace, and Janice Jackson and Darlene Dunn, both of Kentwood; two sons,
the Rev. Lee Allen Pounds Jr., Baton Rouge, and Teddy Pounds, Harvey; six 
sisters, two daughters-in-law, grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Lee Allen Pounds Sr.; a daughter,
Veronica Pounds; and a son-in-law, Eric Dunn.

Religious service at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 250 Spring Creek Road,
Kentwood, the Rev. Elton Strickland, pastor, at 1 p.m. Saturday, conducted
by the Rev. Norwert Hills Sr. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by her
mother, Naomi M. Pounds of Kentwood; three sisters, Alice Fleming and
husband Elijah of LaPlace, Janice Jackson and Donna Darlene Dunn, both of
Kentwood; two brothers, the Rev. Lee Allen Pounds Jr. and wife Tina of
Baton Rouge and Teddy Pounds and wife Myrtle of Westwego; nieces, nephews,
aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her
father, Lee Allen Pounds Sr.; and a brother-in-law, Eric Dunn Sr.
