Wilmer Peter Prestenback, Jr., 79 years old of Loranger, Louisiana, died Thursday, July 27, 2006 in North Oaks Medical Center. He was born Sunday, September 26, 1926 in New Orleans, Louisiana, son of the late Wilmer Peter and Inez Malbrough Prestenback. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy and was a retired Iron Worker with Local Union 58 of New Orleans. Surviving are his wife, Mae Rose Dennis Prestenback and daughter, Susan Cucinello, both of Violet; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce P. Bouliea of Loranger. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Roy J. Prestenback, Sr., and Richard J. Prestenback. Friends will be received Monday, July 31, 2006 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, Louisiana. Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, Monday, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the Pompeii Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
