He was 79. Visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment in Davies Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Geraldine Fletcher Primes, Ponchatoula; three daughters and son-in-law, Gail Primes Stiles and William Stiles, Covington, Deborah Primes Burris and James Burris, Franklinton, and Carolyn Primes Costner and Harry Costner, Baton Rouge; a sister, Aline Carsley, Jackson, Miss.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Susan Elizabeth Hayes Primes; and three brothers, Wilbert, Hilbert and Wallace Primes. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church, Ponchatoula. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in the Hammond Daily Star on: 1/21/2012 PRIMES, GERALDINE NETTIE FLETCHER Mrs. Geraldine Nettie Fletcher Primes, 89 years old of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2012, at her residence. She was born on Tuesday, October 17, 1922, in Ponchatoula, daughter of the late William Milburn Fletcher and Caroline Davies Fletcher. Mrs. Primes was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ponchatoula and she was also very active with the United Methodist Women. Surviving are her daughters, Gail Primes Stiles and her husband Bill, Debbie Primes Burris and her husband Jimmy, Carolyn Primes Schwebel; 8 grandchildren, Mark Hayden, Jill H. Miller, Melanie H. Varnado, Kyle Burris, Ellen B. DeCuir, Emily B. Hester, Brook S. Peach, and Garrett Schwebel, 3 step-grandchildren, Kimberly Walker, Shannon Holliday, and Amber Wilson, numerous great- grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, and her sister and brother-in- law, Sara Fletcher Morrow and Jim Morrow. She is preceded in death by her husband, Caulson ÒC. J.Ó Primes; brothers & sisters-in-law, Milburn and Hazel Fletcher, Edward and Hilda Fletcher, and Douglas Fletcher. Friends will be received on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula. Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Ponchatoula, Sunday, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. Interment will follow in the Davies Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Generations Hospice and her beloved caregivers.
