Lois was born, Feb. 11, 1920, in the country about 12 miles above (Bunker Hill area) Columbia, Miss. She was a resident of Denham Springs and had previously resided in the following places: Ponchatoula, Sherman, Dallas and Pasadena, Texas, Baton Rouge, Albany and Denham Springs. Survived by her two daughters, Marguerite Anne Prince-Acosta, Denham Springs, and Alice Mildred Brown-Smith, Sherman; sisters, Texie Ray Prine-Young, Ponchatoula and Elaine Prine-Keilberg, Brackettville, Texas; brother, John Prine, Ponchatoula; niece, Meredith Marie Gates-Stephens, Denham Springs; nephew, Charles Herman Gates, Las Vegas; grandchildren, Brian Taylor Giacone, Dallas, Scott C. Giacone, Jason L. Gardner and Margeaux N. Gardner-Vernon, all of Denham Springs, Wyatt Hoover, Jeffrey Hoover and Duane Hoover, all of Sherman; great- grandchildren, Lauren Renee Giacone, Satellite Beach, Fla., Ashley Hoover, Sherman, Gabrielle Julianne Gardner and Dylan Z. Vega, both of Denham Springs, Christopher Roi Gardner-White, Prairieville, Stephanie Huffstutler, Fort Worth, Texas, Bonnie Marixa Giacone, Germany, Airica Giacone, North Carolina, Paige Marguerite Gardner, Ponchatoula and Jackson Cole Gardner, Denham Springs; and a great-great-grandson due June 6, 2008, in Florida. Preceded in death by her husband, Howard Miller Prince, born July 21, 1920, died Dec. 7, 1990; father, Commadore Silivon (C.S.) Prine, born July 4, 1889, died in 1956; mother, Alice Mildred Childers-Prine, died Oct. 1926, in Columbia, Miss.; stepmother, Myra Gates-Prine, Ponchatoula; maternal grandparents, Thomas Childers and Amy Pace Childers, of Marion County, Miss. Paternal grandparents, Simeon Franklin Prine and Eveline Matilda Prine, of Marion County; brothers, infant born April 8, 1909, Columbia, Miss., infant Charley Prine, born Jan. 19, 1911, Columbia, infant born July 8, 1912, Columbia, Leroy Prine, Columbia, Dillon Prine, Clyde Prine, William Prine, and Percy Lee Prine, all of Ponchatoula; sisters, Ruby Jewel Prine (died age 2 in accident with mother in 1926) Columbia, infant born Feb. 11, 1923, Columbia, Salina (Lena) Prine-Gates, Ponchatoula, Allie Ruth Prine-Gill, Albany, Mavis Prine, Ponchatoula. Friends will be received Saturday, April 26, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until services. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel Sunday, April 27, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the Ponchatoula Cemetery, Ponchatoula, 70454.
