He born in Independence on June 26, 1958, and was a resident of Baton Rouge, La. He was a graduate of Cheneyville High School. Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in Carney and Mackey Funeral Home. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, in New Philadelphia Church in Slaughter. Interment will be by Carney and Mackey Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Showers; wife, Annette Profit; and brother, Clayton Profit. Survivors include his father, Johnny Profit; daughter, Claudia Wilson of Lafayette; sons, Jimmy Profit and Marcus Harris; sisters, Rosa Cain, Deloris Profit and Marie Profit, all of Baton Rouge, Janice and Norma Profit of Slaughter; brothers, Johnny Profit of Baton Rouge, La., John, Mitchell, Dwayne and Clifton Profit, all of Slaughter, Eddie (Deloris) Showers of Newbernes and Walter (Marie) Showers of Huntington, New York; and 15 grandchildren.
