Claude Wesley Pulliam, Sr. died at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006, at his residence in Amite. He was 89 and a native of Amite. He was a lifelong member of Amite Church of Christ having served in the capacity as a deacon and elder. He was a U.S Air Force veteran of World War II. Visitation at Amite Church of Christ, Amite, on Monday, May 22, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by Brother Don McGee and Brother John Fulda. Interment in Arcola-Roseland Cemetery, Arcola. He is survived by his wife, Elva Simmons Pulliam, Amite; daughter, Patsy P. Frazier, Amite; two sons, Daine B. Carlsen, (Claude W. Pulliam Jr.), Amite, and Joseph W. Pulliam, Hammond; granddaughter and husband, Whitney Frazier Wallace and Landon Rhet Wallace, Amite; and a number of nieces, nephews and friends. She was 87, born Oct. 16, 1923, in Chesbrough, and a member of Amite Church of Christ for more than 50 years. Survived by her daughter, Patsy Frazier; two sons, Daine Carlsen and Joey Pulliam; granddaughter, Whitney Wallace and her husband, Landon; and two great- granddaughters, Graysen and Rowen Wallace, all of Amite. Also survived by two sisters, Ruthie Cazaubon and her husband, Paul, Metairie, and Beth Spears, Denham Springs; brother, Joseph Simmons, Metairie; sister-in-law, Marie L. "Jerry" Pulliam, Amite; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Claude W. Pulliam Sr.; parents, Jeff and Lessie Carter Simmons; sister, Maxie Hale; and two brothers, Dorman and Raymond Simmons.
