Brittain Harrison Purser, 25, of Amite, died near Shreveport, 3 Dec 1932 when two Army planes collide during training maneuvers. Son of B. B. Purser, Amite attorney. Funeral Monday, 5 Dec; interment in Amite Cemetery. Survivors include parents; Mr. and Mrs. Britain B. Brittain B. Purser, 59, of Amite, died in a New Orleans hospital Wednesday. He was a prominent attorney of Tangipahoa parish for more than 30 years. Born 12 Mar 1874 in Hazelhurst, MS; the son of Rev. D. I. Purser. He was the nephew of Rev. John F. Purser. Educated at Miss. College at Clinton, MS and Howard College at Birmingham, AL; studied law at Tulane Univ.; married Miss Ethel Hungate of White Pine, TN in 1904, she survives. The following children survive: John T., Paul, Miss Mary and Miss Elizabeth. One son, Brittain H., died in an aviation accident last November. Funeral Thursday, Aug 24th in Amite. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 1/1/2006 PURSER, NANCY E. Nancy E. Purser, born and reared in Hammond, died on Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at North Oaks Medical Center. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University where she participated in numerous campus activities including Kappa Rho Sorority. She was selected for the 1960-61 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She attended LSU Medical School for a brief period, then moved to New York City. For 17 years, she was employed by Eastern Airlines as a ticket agent. She traveled extensively and during a trip to Africa in the late 1960s, she became interested in photography. She retired from Eastern to pursue a career in that profession. She became noted for her head shots of actors and actresses. She then decided to concentrate her talents on men's fashion photography. In the mid-1980s, she was forced to give up photography when she developed rheumatoid arthritis. She moved back to Hammond where she resided until her death. She was vice-president of Windrose Productions Inc. of New York and president of Windrose Productions Inc. of Louisiana. She is survived by her sister, Mary Joyce Purser; and twin sister, Dorothy Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Brock and John T. Purser; and her beloved cat, Henry. Visitation at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Hammond, on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2006, from 11 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m. Interment in Grace Memorial Cemetery.
