Sister Mary Andre was born Lois Rosalie Marie Quigley in New Orleans, daughter of the late Malvin Quigley and Marguerite Di Primo. She is survived by two sisters, Josie Q. Ruiz and Roselyn T. Quigley; four brothers, Justin J., Alvin J., Francis J. and Alan Mark Quigley; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Sister received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from St. Mary's Dominican College in New Orleans, and a master's degree from Oklahoma State University. After professing her vows in 1954, Sister taught and served as principal at St. Peter Chanel Interparochial School in Paulina and taught at St. Peter School in Reserve, Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Anthony of Padua schools in New Orleans, St. Agnes School in Baton Rouge and Holy Ghost School in Hammond. Sister Mary Andre was the religion coordinator at St. Theresa of Avila School in Gonzales for the past 13 years. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Of Padua Catholic Church, 4640 Canal St., New Orleans. Interment in the Dominican Sisters Cemetery in Rosaryville, Ponchatoula. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse chapel, 580 Broadway, New Orleans, with a prayer service at 4:45 p.m., and on Wednesday, Dec. 15, from 9 a.m. until Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church.
