She fought a courageous, decades-long battle with Hodgkin's disease, breast cancer and other serious illnesses. Rosie was a beautiful person who touched so many lives with her positive outlook on life. With her powerful inner soul she enjoyed life to the fullest, even when dealing with the illnesses that ravaged her. She loved to spend the holidays with family and friends who will miss her dearly. Rosie graduated from Immaculata High School in New Orleans. She received her undergraduate degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and a master's degree in education from Xavier University in New Orleans. She later earned her certification as an Early Interventionist in an effort to further advocate for those she loved so much, her babies. Rosie taught for many years at schools in Marrero and Hammond, Louisiana. She was especially gifted at teaching children with special needs and touched many little lives. After retiring from teaching for over 30 years Rosie spent the last few years of her life traveling with her beloved husband Neil and her faithful companion CoCo. She was preceded in death by her devoted father, Louis Junior Ragas, her beloved "Auntie" Vera R. Buras, grand- parents, several aunts and uncles and her nephew David Mistich. She is survived by her loving husband, Nilton "Neil" "Tiny" Triche; her cherished and beloved mother, Adelia Persich Ragas; brothers John L.Ragas and his wife Christine, and Timothy J. Ragas; sister Gay Louise Mistich and husband Wayne; Neil's sister Tammy Bryant and her husband John; her dearest friend and "sister", Dee Potasnik. As well as a host of nieces, nephews and family members whose lives will always be enriched by her memory. "Although we walk this earth in search of the truth, a better place with those whom have gone before us await with open arms to welcome us home." In His holy name we pray. Amen.
