She was a Medical Technician at Ochsner Foundation Hospital for 20 years and a member of New Beulah Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Henkel, 2 sons Fred Ratliff, Jr., and Ed Ratliff, 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ratliff, Sr.; and parents, Ed and Bythela Hodges Kinchen; six half-brothers, Wesley (W. D.), Kinchen, Calvin (C. D.) Kinchen, Frank Kinchen, Murphy Kinchen, Robert (Rob) Kinchen, and infant, Ivy Kinchen; two half-sisters, Azlea Sanders and Almeda Jones; five brothers, infant William, Louis, David, Woodrow, and Cherman Kinchen; five sisters, Effie K. Jenkins, Velma K. Amato, Della K. Sanchez, Elvia K. Sansone, and Willie K. Jones. Friends will be received Monday, August 20, 2007, at the Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Hammond from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, August 21st from 8:30 until services. Services will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Albany, LA.
