Edith was born Tuesday, July 1, 1930, in New Orleans. She was minister-pastor of Calvery Tarbernacle for many years. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Jodie Rauch Watts and Thomas E. Watts Jr. of Benton, Ark.; two sisters, Gladys Tucker of Indiana, and Rev. Merle Manguno of Bayou Sorrell, LA; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents: John Isaac Chavers and Mary Reed Chavers; husband: Fred J. Rauch; three brothers: Rev. Charlie Chavers, Author Chavers and Wayne Chavers; three sisters: Evelyn Melinie, Eunice Naquin and Gloria Patrisha Naquin. Friends will be received Monday, June 5 Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 6:00 until 9:00p.m. and at New Life Church in Loranger on Tuesday from 12:00 until services at 1:00p.m. Services will be held at New Life Church in Loranger, Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at 1:00p.m. Interment will follow in the Briar Patch Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana 70446.
