PAUL E. Paul Rawlins, a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, was born Oct. 8, 1929, and went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 11, 2009, at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, Tenn., after a brief illness. Mr. Rawlins was 79 and a native of Houston, spending most of his adult life in Louisiana before moving to Kingsport in 2007. He was a retired gunnery sergeant in the Marine Corps with 23 years of service, including serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church in Baton Rouge and of Local 198 Pipefitters. At the time of his death, he was survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Helen Dee Albin Rawlins; two daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria Rawlins Lawrence and Buck, Amite, and Helena Rawlins Rogers and Bob, Kingsport; a granddaughter, Amanda Blaire Lawrence, Tickfaw; and a sister, Patricia Sparks, Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bertha Bailleaux Rawlins; sisters, Wilma Mae Brecknock and Gladys Mistric; and brother, G.J. Rawlins. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Amite on Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m., with Brother Mike Foster officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to a favorite charity or church. ************************************************************************* Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 7/17/2010 RAWLINS, HELEN DEE ALBIN Helen Dee Albin Rawlins, a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, was born Aug. 24, 1937, and went home peacefully in her sleep to be with the Lord on Friday, June 11, 2010, at Elmcroft Assisted Living Home in Kingsport, Tenn. Mrs. Rawlins was 72, a native of Independence and spent most of her life in Louisiana before moving to Kingsport in 2007. She was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church and a veteran of the Army serving from 1958 to 1960. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria Rawlins Lawrence and Buck, Amite, and Helena Rawlins Rogers and Bob, Kingsport; a granddaughter, Amanda Blaire Lawrence, Tickfaw; brother, Spuggy Albin, Bush; and sisters, Marguerite Clement, Hammond, Esther Sandifer, Baton Rouge, Patsy Lee, Greensburg, and Linda Stewart, Independence. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, E. Paul Rawlins; her parents, Antoine and Audius Hoover Albin; sister, Catherine Smith; and brothers, Hugh Lee Albin and Lansing Albin. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, LA RAWLINS, LILLIE MAE Lillie Mae Rawlins, age 84, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Lillie was a native of Ponchatoula and resident of Hammond. Lillie leaves behind her sister, Beverly Fralick and her husband Jack W. Fralick Preceding Rita in death were her parents Orien and Ethel Rawlins. Robert "Bob" Lee Rawlins, Sr. was born August 29, 1919 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away at the age of 87 on March 22, 2007. He was a native of San Antonio, Texas and a resident of Loranger, formerly of Kenner. Mr. Rawlins was in the Army and worked his whole life as an appliance service man.
