She was 80 and a native of Hammond. Visitation at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, on Tuesday, March 13, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service in the chapel at 11 a.m., conducted by her nephew, the Rev. Jeff Wainwright, and the Rev. Adrian Spikes. Burial in the Rayborn Family Cemetery in Livingston. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Michael Primas and Rita and Harvey Wagner; four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Bernadette Rayborn, Milford "Buster" Jr. and Dian Rayborn, Kenny Rayborn and Goldie Marie Washburn, and Ronald Rayborn; three sisters, Betty Amacker Prevost, Kathryn Mayers and Margaret Peters; two brothers, Gerald and David Wainwright; 18 grandchildren; 32 great- grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two loving and devoted daughters-in-law, Betty Wheat Rayborn and Sharon Allen West; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Milford Rayborn Sr.; parents, Alva and Jesse Bruce Wainwright; son, Richard "Red" "Ricky" Rayborn; sister, Frances Needham; two brothers, Charles and John "Butch" Wainwright; and stepmothers, Johnnie Flowers and Myrtle Wainwright. Pallbearers will be Richie, Truett, Clayton, Coby and Brandon Rayborn, Frank Harper Jr., Travis Herring Jr. and Shane West. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Kevin Whitten, Jason, Jeremy, Lance and Trey Rayborn and Nicky Herring. She was a member of New Haven Baptist Church in Tickfaw. She was a native and resident of Woodhaven, a charter member of New Haven Baptist Church and owned Rayborn's General Merchandise Store in Albany for 22 years. She leaves behind her three daughters, Hermine Gleeson and husband Bob, Daisy Norman and husband Charles, and Carolyn Norman and husband Bill; two sons, Herman Rayborn Jr. and wife Patty, and Albert G. Rayborn and wife Judy; grandchildren, Chip Norman, Skipper Rayborn, Stormy Norman Stevens, Wendy Rayborn, Casey Rayborn Hicks, Lance Rayborn, Frank Rayborn, Linda Primas, Buster Rayborn, Rita Wagner, Kenny Rayborn, Ronnie Rayborn, Debbie Flanagan, Billy Norman and Dwayne Vining; along with numerous great- grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Maudie was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Rayborn Sr.; son, Milford Rayborn; grandson, Ricky Rayborn; three sisters, Catherine Crayton, Iva Holts and Christine Craig; and two brothers, John Carroll and Lonnie Stewart.
