REWIS, ESTHER ELVORA
A resident of Ponchatoula, she died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Hammond
Nursing Home, Hammond. She was 48 and a native of New Iberia. Visitation at
Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home chapel, Ponchatoula, from 11 a.m. until
religious service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, conducted by Brandon
Johnson. Interment in Arnold Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by two daughters,
Wendy Schafer and Sephronia Wallace, both of Ponchatoula; five grand-
children; a brother, James Martin Rewis, Ponchatoula; and two sisters,
Thelma Ann Young and Mary Kay Hoover, both of Ponchatoula. Preceded in 
death by her parents, Eston and Rita Arnold Rewis.

REWIS, ESTON CHARLES
A resident of Ponchatoula, he died Tuesday, April 6, 1999, at North Oaks
Medical Center, Hammond. He was 81 and a native of Brooksville, Fla.
Visiting at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 6 p.m. to 
10 p.m. Thursday and after 8 a.m. Friday. Religious services at the funeral
home chapel at 11 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. J.W. McGee. Interment
in Arnold Family Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by wife, Rita Arnold Rewis,
Ponchatoula; four daughters, Linda Jo Landry, Delcomb, Esther Elvora
Savoie, Loranger, and Thelma Ann Young and Mary Kay Rewis, both of
Ponchatoula; two sons, Eston L. Rewis, Jacksonville, Fla., and James M.
Rewis, Independence; a sister, Junita Rentz, Jacksonville; four brothers,
Leon Rewis and Ralph Blanchard Rewis, both of Placka, Fla., Cliford Rewis,
Jacksonville, and George C. Rewis, Georgia; 15 grandchildren and seven
great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, Leon Ralph and Thelma
Conger Rewis; and a sister, Mildred McMinn.

REWIS, RITA ARNOLD
A native and resident of Ponchatoula, she died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 71. Visiting at Harry McKneely
& Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, Thursday, after 9 a.m. until religious
service at 1 p.m., conducted by Brandon Johnson. Interment in Arnold
Cemetery. Survived by three daughters, Esther Rewis, Thelma Rewis and Mary
Kay Hoover, all of Ponchatoula; a son, James Rewis, Ponchatoula; a sister,
Myrtle Austin Kinchen, Ponchatoula; a stepson, Eston L. Rewis,
Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Linda Landry, Delcambre; 10 grand-
children and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Eston C.
Rewis; parents, James Barney and Myrtle Willie Arnold; and a brother,
Albert Jack Arnold.
