He was born November 26, 1937, in Tickfaw. Mr. Ribando served in the Army National Guard and was a retired school bus driver with Tangipahoa Parish Schools. Surviving are his 2 daughters, Debra Ribando Martin, Emily Ribando Alfano and husband Leon; 2 sons, Michael Joseph Ribando Sr and wife Vickie, Dominick Anthony Ribando and wife Jenifer; 12 grandchildren, John J. Monteleone, Tammy Lynn Williams, Michael J. Ribando Jr, Chad A. Ribando, Crystal M. Ribando, Leon Alfano Jr, Jennifer M. Alfano, Olivia Paige Ribando, Nicholas D. Ribando, Crystal R. Gentry, Jacey D. Rushing, B.J. Stewart; 8 great-grandchildren, Riley, Victoria, Michael, Alex, Brayden, Shelby, Steven, Gage; sister, Jo Marie "Josie" Alfonso; 4 brothers, Johnny, Guy, Joe, and Jimmy Ribando. He was 12 and a native of Marrero. He graduated from L.S.U. Medical School in 1957 and was in general practice in Marrero for 50 years, served as Assistant Coroner of Jefferson Parish and Coroner of Tangipahoa Parish and was owner of Ribando's Electrical Supply in Marrero and Hammond. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Hammond and founding member of the Italian-American Society of Jefferson Parish. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed farming, playing poker with his friends and spending time with his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Mothe Funeral Home, 7040 Lapalco Blvd (corner Westwood Dr.), Marrero, LA on Sunday, January 21, 2007, from 6 PM to 10 PM. Visitation will resume at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 601 N. Oak Street, Hammond, LA on Monday, January 22, 2007 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. A Funeral Mass will follow.
