Charlotte, N.C. - T.H. "Rick" Rickenbaker, 76, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, in Hendersonville, N.C. He was a native of Charlotte, a lifelong member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a graduate of North Carolina State University. He served the U.S. Army Corps during World War II as a second lieutenant. He was also a industrial chemical salesman and worked with Airborne Express. He is survived by his wife, "Loodie" Rickenbaker; two daughters, Cynthia Benton of Hickory, N.C., and Barbara Rickenbaker of Hendersonville, N.C.; two sons, Michael Rickenbaker of Hammond and Daniel Rickenbaker of Charlotte, N.C.; and four grandchildren. A committal service will be Wednesday at Sharon Memorial Park at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C. The Rev. Reid Kriger and the Rev. Michael Cummings will conduct the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Charlotte, P.O. Box 31046, Charlotte, N.C. 28231.
