HORACE B. SR.) A resident of Lafayette for many years, she died at 10:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, Lafayette. She was 77, a native of Kentwood and daughter of the late Thomas G. Womack Sr. and the former Rachel Louise Harper, both natives of Kentwood. Visiting at Martin & Castille Funeral Home, 330 St. Landry St., Lafayette, 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, with recitation of the rosary immediately following. Visiting at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Saturday. Funeral services at Grace Presbyterian Church, Lafayette, at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Rhodes Stipp, pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Rickey, Lafayette; a son, Robert Harper Rickey and his wife, Karen Elizabeth Rickey, Crediton Devon, England; and three grandsons, Thomas Harper, Benedict Edward and Alastair Hunt Rickey. Preceded in death by her husband, Horace B. Rickey Sr.; her parents; a brother, Thomas G. Womack Jr.; and a sister, Sara Olevia Womack Guilbeau. A graduate of Kentwood High School and Southeastern Louisiana University, she moved to Boston before World War II and worked as a secretary on the Manhattan Project. After the war, she worked for the world-renowned orthopedist surgeon, Dr. Carter Rowe. Later, she moved to Houston and worked for Humble Oil Co. In 1952, while on a blind date set up by her sister, Sara, she met Horace B. Rickey Sr. of Lafayette. They were married six weeks later. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith House, P.O.
