She was a native of Hammond and resident of Tickfaw. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ridgel; 3 sons, Colin Ridgel, Keith Ridgel, and Kenny Ridgel; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy Krimenz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ridgel; 2 daughters, Jan Ridgel and Louise Legendre; 2 grandchildren, Kenny Ridgel and Karen Sue Stroute; brother, Coy Williams; sisters, Pud Wilson, Weedie Maxon, Shirley Chauffe, Lois Ridgel, Bessie Williams and Ona Krimenz; and her parents Elijah and Mary Soames Williams. Family and friends are invited to the visitation at Geisler Funeral Home of Hammond on Friday, Feb. 20 after 9 am until the service at 11 am conducted by Bro. Andy Stafford. Interment will follow in Mt. Stevens Cemetery, Tickfaw. He was a resident of Natalbany. Religious services were held Friday morning at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home. Burial was in Mt. Stevens Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Williams Ridgel of Natalbany; seven sons, Louis G., Jesse, Edward, Victor, Kenneth, Keith and Colin Ridgel) four daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Josie) Predatt, of Savannah, Ga., Mrs. Huey (Louise) Legendre of Marrero, Misses Linda and Janice Ridgel both of Natalbany; four brother, Fred, Arthur, Dude and Hubert Ridgel, all of California; 32 grandchildren and 13 great-grand- children. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star: 12/16/2009 RIDGEL, LOUIS GUY Louis Guy Ridgel, born September 27, 1926, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, was a lifelong resident of Tickfaw. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and retired after many years of service with the City of Hammond as the Water and Sewer Superintendent. He is survived by 5 sons: Jerry (Becky), Danny (Marybeth), Buddy (Michele), Harry (Jo Belinda), and Timmy Ridgel and two daughters; Elaine (Joey) DiBenedetto, and Tammy (Joe) Graziano and extended family; Jim and Carol Gray all of Tickfaw. He is also survived by five brothers: Jesse Ridgel, Edward Ridgel, Victor Ridgel, Kenny Ridgel and Keith Ridgel and one sister Josie Pradat. He is survived by sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife Mittie Ridgel, his father, Louis Ridgel and mother, Florence Anderson Stewart. Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home in Ponchatoula Wednesday, December 16 from 5 until 9 p.m., and on Thursday after 8 a.m. until the religious services at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Stevens Cemetery (Red Hill), Tickfaw La.
