Born in Metairie, she was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Herbert; their children Ronald, Susan and Geri; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her son, Richard, preceded her in death. A memorial service will be Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, Hammond, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Hammond or to cancer research. Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home, Metairie, is in charge. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 6/7/2008 RIDLEN, HERBERT LEO Herbert Leo Ridlen of Hammond, LA passed away on June 5, 2008. Age 81 years. He retired from Pan American Airways while residing in Houston, TX. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Merchant Marines. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Roth Ridlen, and his eldest son, Richard Leo Ridlen. He is survived by three children, Ronald John Ridlen, Susan Ridlen Sevin, and Gerri Ridlen Brignac, and their spouses, along with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hammond. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 pm on Sunday, June 8th at First Presbyterian Church of Hammond.
