She was a native of Clinton and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired East Baton Rouge Parish schoolteacher. She also taught in Tangipahoa Parish at Dillon High School and Midway Elementary School, and East Feliciana Parish at Jackson Elementary. Religious service at Winnfield Funeral Home on Saturday, April 14, at 1 p.m. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Ridley of Friendswood, Texas, and Kimberly Ridley of Baton Rouge; a son-in-law, Kevin Alexcee of Friendswood; a sister, Thelma Davis Bates of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Henry Holmes Jr. of Los Angeles and Joe Holmes of Clinton; an aunt, Ruth Riley of Kenner; six grand- children, Khary Alexcee, Damani Alexcee, Imani Alexcee and Nia Alexcee, all of Friendswood, and Kalleb Ridley and Karmelo Ridley, both of Baton Rouge; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Louetta Riley; husband, Peter H. Ridley; a daughter, Rene Ridley; a brother, Tommy Lee Mack; and sisters, Annie Holmes Arnette and Vivian S.
