Interment will follow at Paul's Cemetery, Eva, La. under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. Barbara Riggs was born on January 3, 1919, in Eva, La. and passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. She was a resident of Ferriday, a bookkeeper and a member of Ferriday Church of God. She was preceded in death by husband John F. Riggs Sr., father Joseph H. Paul, mother Hilie Warwick Paul, son John F. Riggs Jr., brother Carl Paul, brother Roy Paul, brother Pete Paul and sister Mattie Morace. Survivors include her son Paul "Mickey" Riggs and Elizabeth of Ponchatoula, La., daughter Judy Hewitt and Homer of Monterey, La., grandaughter Kim and Joe Dallalio, granddaughter Elizabeth and DeShea Miller, granddaughter, Hilie and Jason McFarland, grandson David Riggs, grandson Jason and Danielle Hewitt, grandson Jarrod and Cynthia Hewitt, grandson Paul Jr. and Jessica Riggs and grandson Micha Riggs. She was also survived by 14 great- grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jason Hewitt, Jarrod Hewitt, Jason McFarland, Paul Riggs Jr., Micha Riggs, David Riggs, DeShea Miller and Joe Dallalio.
