She was born on January 17, 1930 and was married to Davis W. Rimes Sr. for 34 years until he passed away in 1981. Annie resided in Baton Rouge for most of her life. A strong and tough woman who saw good and bad times, Annie's favorite saying was, "The Lord will provide". She enjoyed reading and sewing, but had a true passion for working with ceramics which she shared with many. Everyday, she looked forward to working in the Swampland Ceramics Shop. She leaves behind six beloved children and their spouses, Kathleen Ann Ryle of Hammond; Joyce and Henry David of Ponchatoula; Davis Jr. and Linda Rimes of Walker; Ben and Sheryl Rimes of Denham Springs; Robert and Robin Rimes of Clinton; Dapheny Rimes of Lockhart. She is also survived by two daughters-in-law, Marilyn Rimes Core and Lydia Rimes, along with fifteen grandchildren and their spouses, Nina and Ronnie LeBlanc, Charles "Sonny" and Angeline Ryle, Jennipher Ryle, Stephanie and Kevin Martin, Cynthia and Darryn Compton, Kimberly and George Martin III, John and Kim Rimes, Barbara McCutcheon, Danell Mire, Tonya and Jon Barber, Bryan and Brandie Gilchrist, Melissa Rimes, Pamela and Jeremy Bankston, Jessica and Clinton Ratcliff, Courtney and John Fletcher. Sixteen great-grand- children, Kayla and Emily LeBlanc; Joshua, Alyssa, Brittany and Alexis Ryle; Austin and Tyler Martin; Dylan Compton; Haley McCutcheon; Rickey and Corey Barber; William and Leanna Bankston; Landon W. Ratcliff; Caden Fletcher also survive her. She is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Elmore ³Moe² and Cathleen Scafidel of Natalbany, and Charlie and Audrey Scafidel of Loranger along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Annie was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles Edward ³Chuck² Rimes, John "Billy" Rimes; a son-in-law, Charles E. Ryle Sr.; her parents, Ben and Matilda Jones Scafidel; seven brothers, Willie Scivicque, Tony, Phillip, Ben Jr., Russell, Kelly, and Edd "Cotton" Scafidel; and one sister, Mary Scafidel May. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, March 20, 2008 from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday at Bluff Springs Baptist Church, 5027 Magnolia Progress Rd. Magnolia MS 39652, beginning at 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm. She was a retired registered nurse, a life member of Louisiana Veterinarian Medical Association Auxiliary and life member and past president of Kentwood Garden Club. She was an active member of Kentwood First Baptist Church and Martha Sunday School class.
