Perry 18 Jan 2012 Jan 2012 Jerry Nelson *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge): 1/4/2005 RITTER, BILLIE RUTH A loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she passed away at her residence in Ponchatoula on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at the age of 79. She was a native of Good Pine in LaSalle Parish. She was a retired employee of the state of Louisiana, retiring as the assistant director of the Louisiana Higher Education Assistance Commission. She was an avid quilt-maker and loved to cross-stitch. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, E. Perry Ritter, Ponchatoula; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Perry and Deborah Vining Ritter of Youngsville; granddaughter and grandson-in- law, Emily and James Garaudy; grandson, Christopher Ritter; a great-grand- son, Mason Garaudy; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah and Edwin Teal. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Stringer; and two sisters, Doris Williams and Louise McDaniel. Visitation was Monday, Jan. 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at 10 a.m. with funeral service at 11 a.m. at Geisler Funeral Home chapel in Ponchatoula with burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Baton Rouge. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Robert Peltier and the staff of North Oaks Hospice. PERRY E. Perry Ritter, 87, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at North Oaks Medical Center. He was a native of Many, formerly of Baton Rouge, and resident of Ponchatoula. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ponchatoula and a 32nd degree Mason. Perry served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received the Purple Heart. He served in the 94th Infantry Division in the European Theater and also with the Occupation Army. Perry leaves behind his wife, Jean Macaluso-Ritter; children, Michael and Debbie Ritter, and Greg and Donna Fisher; grandchildren; Christopher Ritter, Emily Ritter Garaudy, Lauren Fisher, Taylor and Brandon Cox; great-grandchildren, Mason Garaudy, Connor Garaudy, Landon Sykes, Brock Sykes, Kennadie Cox and Makenzie Cox; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his first wife, Billie Ruth Ritter; parents, E.P. Ritter and Lucy Ritter; and a sister, Sarah Teal. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the religious service from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, 1190 U.S. 51 N., Ponchatoula, on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours begin at 9 a.m. Services will be conducted by Brother David Cranford.
