Currently he was enrolled at St. Thomas More as a freshman. Austin was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting and skeet shooting. His fishing skills were legendary, as he always caught the most and could spend hours indulging in the sport. His favorite fishing holes were False River at the Rivault Camp and the Miller Pond in Prairieville; but he also fished the private ponds in his neighborhood, the Vermilion River near his home and the Ouachita River near the family's deer lease. He excelled in the 4-H Skeet Shooting Program. His favorite sport was Lacrosse and was currently a member of the St. Thomas More Team. He was an altar server at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.
