She was born, April 10, 1927, in Hammond, LA. Mrs. Riviere was an avid bridge player and loved LSU football & baseball. She was retired from the Hammond Daily Star after 22 years. She was a graduate of Hammond High School and she graduated from Louisiana State University in 1949. Surviving are her 3 daughters, Ren/ Amond, Andr/ Samson and her husband Jeff, and Jaun/ Lamonaca and her husband Caesar; 1 sister, Betty Landry Loupe; 4 grandchildren, Eric Samson, Laura Lamonaca, Bryce Amond and his wife Brandi, and Leigh Lamonaca; 2 great-grandchildren, Brody and Baleigh Amond; and 2 nieces, Marylee Allen and Janet Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronie & Freda Keim Landry; and brother, Charles Landry. Friends will be received Friday, May 22, 2009, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 9:00 a.m. until the religious services at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Tangipahoa Parish Animal Shelter. Des Allemands - Ward E. Riviere, 72, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at East Jefferson General Hospital. He was a native of Lacombe. Survivors include his siblings, Willis and Ray Riviere, Elizabeth Riviere Ganucheau, Ann Riviere Palmisano; and a granddaughter. A sister, Lois Riviere Sheehe, preceded him in death.
