Betty was born on Monday, Jan. 5, 1942, in Worchester, Mass. She was a volunter at CASA. Surviving are daughter, Annemarie Michaels, son, John William Wilder, son & daughter-in- law, Michael and Nettie Roach, grandchildren, Jessica, Shaun, Dalton, Ryan, Bethany, Katherine, Karl, great-grandchild, Elijah. She is preceded in death by husband, Arthur William Roach, parents, John Wilder and Susie Flagg Wilder, sister, Sylvia Roberts. Friends will be received Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Regeneration Ministry, 32210 Hwy 43. Albany LA. Services will be held at Regeneration Ministry, Saturday, at 6 p.m., with Bro Michael Roach officiating. A resident of Ponchatoula, LA for 14 years, he was born in Honeygrove, TX, on November 5, 1926. He enlisted in the Army and served in the Pacific from 1944-1946. He attended the University of Texas and married Jane Burleson on November 22, 1950. John Roach retired as Comptroller of Data Com & Offshore Telephone Company. He was co-founder and for 18 years served as Vice President of New Freedom Institute which served addicted persons and their families. He was a member of the American Management Association and Vice Chairman of the LA Association on Compulsive Gambling. As a Friend of Bill W. for 48 years, he helped hundreds of people make lives for themselves. John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane B. Roach of Ponchatoula, sons James P. Roach of Hammond and Daniel R. Roach of Pecos, NM; daughter Nancy J. Roach of New Orleans, 6 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents John Ross Roach and Nervesta Billingsley Roach Foster; brothers Ross Roach and James Roach. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Interment will follow at Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, LA.
