Robbins, died January 1, in a Camden hospital. Services were Monday, January 4, at St. Thomas Episcopal church in Camden; interment was in Camden. She was first married to William E. Hall and resided in Hammond. After his death she moved to Camden and later married Mr. Robbins. She was is the daughter of the late Thomas Lane Carter and Anna Jennings; mother of Annie Hall Proctor and Hamilton E. Hall; sister of Marguerite Carter, Ellen Carter Rundle and William H. Carter, Jr., and the late Lady Lillian Bert of London, England and Charles Congrene Carter of Hammond. Gerald Milton Robbins Sr., 68, died at 1:52 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Gonzales. He was a resident of Prairieville and a former 20-year resident of Donaldsonville. He was a native of Mansfield. Visitation was at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Sunday, July 24, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at Ascension Baptist Church, 13436 Airline Highway, Gonzales, on Monday, July 25, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Keith Crider and the Rev. Jeff Bayhi. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge. Robbins is survived by his wife of 49 years, Myrna Pardue Robbins of Prairieville; four children, Renee Robbins-Phares and husband Bobby Phares of Amite, Denise Robbins and Claire Robbins Ledet, both of Gonzales, and G. Milton "Digger" Robbins Jr. and wife Lisa Delatte Robbins, also of Gonzales; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Marilyn Martin Robbins, Dubach, and Pierce and Penny Young Robbins of Mont Belvieu, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Freddie and Blanche Pardue of San Augustine, Texas, and Cary and Kathy Pardue of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, B.J. Phares of Hammond, Robin Phares and fiancée Duane Wilkinson of Ponchatoula, Blake Ledet, and Haylie, Alaina and Natalie Robbins, all of Gonzales; and mother-in-law, Helen Pardue. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Milton and Trudie Price Robbins. Robbins was a 1954 graduate of Mansfield High School in Mansfield. He was a 1955 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in Dallas. He began managing funeral homes in Winnfield in 1962 at the age of 26. While in north Louisiana, he served as president of North Louisiana Funeral Director's Association from 1968 to 1969. After moving to south Louisiana, he served as president of SELFDA from 1983 to 1984. He also served as president of LFDA from 1994 to 1995. In 2001, he was recipient of the Southeast Louisiana Funeral Director's Association Funeral Director of the Year award. He has participated in numerous state and national conventions since beginning his funeral service career. He continued to serve the Southeast and Louisiana on committees. Robbins was the retired general manager of Ourso Funeral Home Inc., overseeing facilities in Donaldsonville, Gonzales, White Castle, Pierre Part, Hargrave in Morgan City and the two locations of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher and Norco, and all seven locations under the Alderwoods Group umbrella. Robbins was employed with Ourso's for 23” years. He was in the funeral service industry for 52 years. He was the former owner of Robbins Funeral Home in Ringgold and Thibodaux-Robbins Funeral Home in Thibodaux. He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Donaldsonville, serving as chairman of deacons and as a trustee. He had been a current member of Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales. Kenneth G. Robbins, a marine engineer and consultant, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at his home in Loranger. He was 66, born Tuesday, May 23, 1939, in Amesbury, Mass., son of the late Elwood Robbins and the late Helen Mae Wood Robbins Russell. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Shanks Robbins; son, Bryan L. Robbins of Hammond; daughter, Lauren Robbins of Baton Rouge; grandson, Seth Jacob Robbins-Levine of Baton Rouge; stepdaughter, Stephanie Billingsley Heath of Warner Robins, Ga.; stepson, Reed Billingsley of Morgan City; and granddaughters, Guinevere and Eleanor Heath of Warner Robins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Robbins. Friends will be received Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 10 a.m. until noon.
