Summit, Miss. - Edith M. Robertson, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss. A native of Shaw, Miss., she was a former resident of Roseland and had worked as a retail sales manager. Survivors include two daughters, Fay Gonzales of Tickfaw and Dorothy Magee of Summit; two sons, Eddie Robertson of Hammond, and Vincent David Robertson of South Carolina; two sisters, Helen Bennett of Livingston, and Betty Bankston of Albany; a brother, Allen Taylor of Springfield; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Vincent Leland Robertson, preceded her in death as did a sister, Billie Green, and four brothers, Donald Jones Taylor, Frank, J.W. and H.D. Taylor. Born in Labarre, she attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Ponchatoula and married Oliver William Robertson Sr. in Ponchatoula on July 12 almost 50 years ago. She was a military housewife and mother. She volunteered for the American Red Cross from 1953 to 1955. Then in 1958-60, she worked as a nurse's aide in Memorial Hospital's nursery. She also volunteered for military thrift shops throughout her husband's 20-year career. Survivors include her husband, retired Maj. Robertson, Lawton; three children, Priscilla Yoast and James J. Robertson, both of Lawton, and "Bill" Oliver William Robertson Jr. of Lyons, Ga.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Louis J. Le Blanc, Luke J. Le Blanc, Willie J. Le Blanc and Reno J. Le Blanc, and an infant sister, Nellie Mary Le Blanc, preceded her in death. He was retired from Shell Oil Co. as an operator and pipe fabricator and currently is the #1 Strawberry Farmer. John Roy was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was also a competitive hunter, and is on the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival Rowe of Fame. John was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Hammond and was one of the greatest bible teachers. John Roy leaves behind his loving wife, Mitzi Morse Robertson; children, Dale Hunter Robertson and wife Heather Gomez Robertson and Candi Robertson Morse and husband Aldon C. Morse; sister, Eloise Robertson Dickens; brother, Terry O.
