She was 82, born Sunday, July 29, 1923, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alex Sohayda and Esther Mezei. Surviving are three daughters, Esther Pam Newman, JoAnne Tallo and Deborah Stevens, all of Hammond; a brother, Charles Pal of Robert; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Frank Rohling. Friends will be received at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond on Wednesday, April 5, from 11 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at noon, with the Rev. John Restrepo, O.P., celebrant. Interment in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond.
