ROMAINE, CYNTHIA CARMENA 
A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, 
2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center after a long bout of 
leukemia. She was 70, a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and a 1956 
graduate of St. Joseph's Academy. She is survived by her husband of 51 
years, Madison "Bud" Romaine; sister, Linda Devall and husband Frank Devall, 
of Zachary; daughter, Lisa Ellen Jones and husband Michael Jones, of 
Simmesport; son, Robert Craig Romaine and wife Susan Steffensen, of Chapel 
Hill, N.C.; son, the Rev. Christopher Martel Romaine, pastor of Mater 
Dolorosa Catholic Church, Independence; daughter, Nancy Amanda Thompson and 
husband Joe Thompson, Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Jessica Jones Cashio, 
Lauren Jones Soldani, Sarah Jones, Andrew, Catherine and Natnael Romaine, 
Caitlyn and Connor Thompson; and great-grandchild, Taylor Cashio. Preceded 
in her death by her parents, Robert L. and Oleta Mae Carmena. Visitation at 
Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Sunday, Nov. 9, was from 
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation at St. Aloysius Church on Monday, Nov. 10, from
1 p.m. until funeral Mass at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Chris Romaine, celebrant.
