He was 87, a native of Paulina and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Dominguez, and son-in-law, Charles Dominguez of Ponchatoula; three grandchildren, Steven Dominguez Sr. and wife Kathy, and Lori and Mark Dominguez; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Owens, Steven Jr. and Marvin Dominguez; four brothers, Pascal, Nelson, Maurice and Alban Roques; and two sisters, Theresa Miley and Irene Bourgeois. Preceded in death by his wife, Anne Schexnaydre Roques; parents, Alban Joseph and Aline Ordeneaux Roques; brother, Theophile Roques; and sister, Sister Mary Juliana Roques. Visiting will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Thursday, March 8, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Sister was born Mildred Marie Roques in Paulina, the daughter of the late Alban Joseph Roques and Aline Angelina Ordeneaux Roques. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Theophile Antoine Roques; and a brother- in-law, Nolan Bourgeois. She is survived by five brothers, Achille, Pascal, Nelson, Maurice and Alban Roques; two sisters, Theresa Roques Miley and Irene Roques Bourgeois; six sisters-in-law, Linda, Anne, Lucille, Beatrice, Marion and Nancy Roques; a brother-in-law, Bruce Miley; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great- nephews; two dedicated cousins, Joycelyn and Bill Haydel; and numerous other cousins. Sister Mary Juliana received a bachelor of education degree from St. Mary's Dominican College. After professing her vows as a Dominican sister in 1940, Sister taught in elementary schools in Louisiana and Mississippi, including St. Agnes, Baton Rouge; St. Leo the Great, St. Anthony of Padua, St. John the Baptist, St. Matthias and Our Lady of Lourdes in New Orleans; St. Joseph, Paulina; St. Mary Assumption, Cottonport; and Lizana Public School in Lizana, Miss. For 22 years, Sister Mary Juliana taught at Holy Ghost School in Hammond. In 1990, Sister adopted a more retired life of prayer at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse. Visitation at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse chapel, 580 Broadway, New Orleans, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2003, with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Visitation at the chapel from 9 a.m. until a funeral Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003.
