A native of Mobley, Ark., he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having served in European Theater, a retired auto mechanic and a member and deacon of the Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church near Strawberry. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Rose of Rock, Kansas and Billy Bob Rose of Orange Park, Fla.; one brother, Pat Rose of Cave City; two sisters, Florence Gardner of Ponchatoula. and Zora Boyer of Paragould; six grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Geneva Rose; one infant daughter, Barbara Ann Rose; three brothers, Wes Rose, Ernest Rose and J.P. "Jake" Rose; three sisters, Dorothy Perilloux, Wilma Smith and Una Pinter; and his parents, James Parkey and Sarah James Rose. A funeral service was today at Bold Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Deshawn Pankey was the officiant. Burial was at Ward Cemetery, Strawberry. Married on Aug. 2, 1944, to Thomas Rose of Cincinnati, their daughter, Sandra, was born April 3, 1949, in the fifth year of their marriage. Their son, Thomas Franklin, was born July 22, 1954, in the 10th year of their marriage. She wanted it to be known that her children were such a joy. Since 1958, she made her home in Mobile, Ala.
