A resident of Clinton, he died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 66 and a former resident of Baton Rouge. A memorial service will be held at Clear Creek Methodist Church, 17887 La. 432, north of Clinton, on Saturday, March 4, at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Bob Townsend. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Greg Cox, Friendswood, Texas; son, Sayre Rowan Jr., Clinton; brother, Tommy Rowan Sr., New Orleans; niece, Amy Favalora, Luling; nephew, Tommy Rowan Jr., Luling; and two grandchildren, Michelle and Matthew Cox, Friendswood. He was preceded in death by his parents, Foster C. Sr. and Katie Mae Sayre Rowan; and a brother, F. Carl Rowan Jr. Friends desiring may make memorial donations to Clear Creek Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 148, Clinton, LA 70722. He was active for more than 22 years in AA. He loved the outdoors and was always busy. He enjoyed helping others and giving of himself.
