She is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Sanchez of Amite; two sons, Jason and Eric Rowdon, both of Amite; two brothers, Joe Braddy and Stanley Braddy, both of Amite; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Cora Peek Braddy. A memorial service will be Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Amite, at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Crematory, Denham Springs. McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, is in charge. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Advocate (Baton Rouge) on: 6/6/2013 ROWDON, DOROTHY KRAMAR Dorothy, a resident of Amite, was born in Mattoon, WI on July 21, 1912 to Walter B. and Mary Niven Kramar. She died peacefully in her sleep in her apartment at the Forum Retirement Home in Houston, TX on June 2, 2013 with family by her side. She was 100 years old. She was educated at Mattoon Elementary and High School and then at Ripon College in Ripon, WI. It was at Ripon where she met her future husband, Maurice A. (Rowdy) Rowdon. They were married on June 11, 1934. They lived in WI until they moved to Amite in 1946. Dorothy was a member of Eastern Star and an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Amite, where she was a member for over 60 years. She is survived by her 6 children, Judy Rowdon, Lubbock, TX, Jill Ridgedell, Loranger, Noelle Rowdon and husband, Jack Gray, Houston, TX, Jeffrey Rowdon, Amite, Scott Rowdon and wife Melody, West Monroe and Jeannine Boswell and husband, Jim of Houston, TX. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and her older sister, Vera Kimball, Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice A. Rowdon, her parents, Walter B. and Mary Kramar and a brother, Edward Kramar. Visitation will be at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Wednesday and funeral services will be at 10:00 on Thursday, June 6 at the First United Methodist Church. Interment Mulberry Street Cemetery, Amite. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund, 800 N. Duncan Avenue, Amite, LA 70422.
