He was 79, a native of Tangipahoa Parish and a resident of Kentwood. He was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church. Visitation at Kentwood Assembly of God, Kentwood, was on Tuesday, March 6, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Don Tate. Interment in Spring Creek Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Lila Easley Rowley, Kentwood; son, J.W. Rowley, Bellevue, Fla.; two daughters, Patricia "Patsy" Rowley Hall, Baton Rouge, and Lisa Rowley Evans, Tomball, Texas; sister, Carolyn Rowley Brown, Kingston, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; niece, Romalda Rowley Tate; and nephew, Ken Rowley. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Gordon Rowley; parents, Elzie Burton and Emma Ruth Lewis Rowley; and two brothers, Berlie "Snag" Rowley and Rayford Rowley.
