He was born Monday, July 28, 1941, in Marion, Ohio. Mr. Rubel worked as a Tug Boat Captain for a number of years. Surviving are his wife, Nellie Fay Rubel; two grandchildren; and his sister, Jean LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his parents, Duane and Thelma McGinty Rubel and his son, Robert Whittington. A memorial service will be held at a later date. *************************************************************************** Obituary published in The Hammond Daily Star on: 3/15/2008 RUBEL, NELLIE FAY Nellie Fay Rubel, 59 years old, of Tickfaw, La., died March 13 at North Oaks Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Whittington, her husband, Larry Rubel, her father, Pete Bell, her mother Mayvelee Bell and one sister, Margaret Marotti. She is survived by seven sisters, Sammie Wamble of Germantown, Tenn., Wanda Sue Rose of Dallas, Texas, Ellie Mae Dilling of Russelville, Ark., Rose Ming of Marked Tree, Ark., Diana Allison and Sharon Jones of Marion, Ark., and Cindy Rapa of Fairview Heights, Ill. She is also survived by five brothers, Pete Bell Jr., Johnny Bell and Bobby Bell of Marked Tree, Ark., Robert Bell of Fayetteville, Ark., and Curtis Bell of Tyronza, Ark. She is also survived by one grandson, Chaz Whittington and one granddaughter, Andrea Lawson. She attended Nesom Memorial Methodist Church.
