He was 73 and a native of Natalbany. Visiting at Gordon Feltus Lazard Cathedral Church of God in Christ, 8930 Plank Road, Bishop James E. Gordon, pastor, from 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, until religious service at 10 a.m., Superintendent Johnny Montgomery, officiating. Interment in Southern Memorial Gardens, Baton Rouge. Those who will cherish his memory include, his loving mother, Mary Francis; a son, Alton Ray Johnson Sr.; a grandson, Alton Ray Johnson Jr.; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Joseph Francois, Charles Francis, Andrew Francis, Larry Sr. and Sheryl Francis, Morris Jr. and Frances Francis, and Thelma L. Rudison; four sisters and three brothers-in- law, Thelma and Edward Thomas Jr., Carrie and Elbert Harris Jr., Sheila and Lloyd Brooks, and Geraldine Brewer; three aunts, Everlyn Rudison, Betty Gauthier and Amelia Bibbins; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
