He was 72, born in Springfield, son of the late Daniel and Eva Edler Sance. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a retired truck driver. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Gauley Sance of Hammond; two daughters, Sherrie Gillis of Ponchatoula, and Sandie Albin of Albany; three sons, Stephen Sance of Pearl, Miss., Jerry Sance of Independence, and Clay Sance of Slidell; two brothers, Leonard Hutchinson of Calhoun, and Lloyd "Happy" Sance of Ponchatoula; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grand- children. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Antoine and Ray Sance; and a sister, Aline Martin. Friends will be received at Albany Missionary Baptist Church from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 15. Religious service at Albany Missionary Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, conducted by the Rev. Terry Landry. She is survived by her parents, Duane and Rosaline Miller Sance; one sister, Melanie Voltolina of Pine; one brother, Brandon Sance of Hammond; maternal grandparents, Joseph and Annabelle Miller of Tickfaw. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alvin and Eva Sance. Visitation will be today at Geisler Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the Rev.
