She was 79 and a native of Baton Rouge. Graveside service in Prospect Cemetery, Florien, at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004. She is survived by two sons, Wesley Sandel, Chicago, and Edward Sandel, Amite; a daughter, Cynthia David, Orange Park, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Sara Victoria David, Orange Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. E.W. Sandel; and her parents, Troy and Ella Williams. Mrs. Sandel was the wife of a Methodist minister and was active in church music and youth ministries. She was a former reporter for the Louisiana Methodist newspaper. In later years, she was a prolific author in the field of genealogy and regional history.
