Charles William Saucier Sr., 68 and a lifelong resident of Ponchatoula, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Charles leaves behind three children, Charles William Saucier Jr., Michael Warren Saucier and Angela Marie Saucier Williams; and grandchildren, Brennan Michael Williams, Dylan Doughty, Evan Doughty and Tyler Price Doughty, all of Ponchatoula. He is also survived by his sister, Mildred Saucier Warner. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Forrest Saucier; father, Lester Saucier; and grandparents, Martin and Lula O'Bryant Forrest, and Thomas and Florence Sonnes Saucier. He was born in Baxterville, Miss., January 3, 1916. He was loved by all and will be missed by his family and friends, and will be forever in their hearts. He was a member of French Corner Baptist Church, former deacon, and Sunday School Teacher, Ponchatoula. He was a member of Nova Stella #36 Order of the Eastern Star, Ponchatoula-Past Patron, member of Masonic Lodge #00016435 in Vicksburg, Miss., and York Rites, Vicksburg, Miss. He was survived by 4 grandchildren: granddaughters: Kim Saucier Emmanuel and husband Bill, Houston, Texas, Krista Saucier Merrimon, Portland, Oregon, Lori Saucier Wilson, and husband Tony, Brownsberg, Indiana, a grandson, Craig Saucier, LeBanion, Indiana. He was survived by stepchildren: Pat Thompson Anderson, Austin, Texas, Arthur Thompson and wife Evelyn, Ponchatoula, David Thompson and wife M'Lou, Ponchatoula. Mary was born in LaFollette, Tenn., on Jan. 27, 1924. A former resident of Kokomo, Ind., she had resided in Ponchatoula since 1944. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, she devoted her life in the service and care of others. Mary was a nurse for 45 years. She was married to Eric Saucier for 62 years and they had three children. She had been a member of First Baptist Church in Ponchatoula since 1944, and a past worthy matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, David Eric Saucier and Patricia Saucier; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Ann Saucier Carter and Donnie Carter and Gayle Marie Saucier Spano and Douglas Spano; five grandchildren, Shelly Gaydos, Dawn Smarr, Darryn Carter, Catherine Brandimarte and Robyn Brown; four sisters, Vermon Saucier, Virginia Reed, Margaret Smallwood and Barbara Wade; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eric Saucier; parents, Claude Hill and Maude Hale Hill; and brothers, Edmond Hill and Claude Winfred Hill.
