SAULS, BETTIE GAYE   

A resident of Kentwood, she died at 7:54 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998, at Hood 
Memorial Hospital, Amite. She was 61 and a native of Pike County, Miss. Visiting 
was at McKneely Funeral Home, Kentwood, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at 
the funeral home, 8 a.m. until religious services at 3 p.m. Thursday, conducted 
by Brother Danny Smith. Interment in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Creek, Miss. 
Survived by a daughter, Carmen Lee Boyd, McComb, Miss.; two sons, Anthony Ray 
Sauls, McComb, and Carlos Wayne Sauls, Picayune, Miss.; five grandchildren; and 
a sister, Jeannette Fairburn, Kentwood. Preceded in death by parents, S.D. and 
Lucille Simmons. She was of the Baptist faith.

SAULS, DEWITT L. 

Died 7:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 1989, at Hood Memorial Hospital in 
Amite. He was 84, a native of Amite. He was a former superintendent of 
Tangipahoa Parish Schools and an Air Force veteran of World War II. 
Visiting at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, 9 a.m. until funeral service 
at 11 a.m. Monday, conducted by Edwin C.Schilling. Burial in Amite Cemetery. 
Survived by a daughter, Lee Sauls, Amite.

SAULS, EMMA E. 

PUMPKIN CENTER - Emma E. Sauls, 65, died Friday, May 2, 2003, at Colombia 
Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Covington. She was a native of Boyd, Fla., 
and resided in Pumpkin Center. Survivors include her husband, Herbert Sauls and 
a son, Lee Roberson, both of Pumpkin Center; two daughters, Robyn Rober-son 
Luckey of Ponchatoula and Renee Roberson Watts of Pumpkin Center; a brother, 
Edwin Blair of Astor, Fla.; seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. 
Her parents, Hurbert and Grace Blair, preceded her in death as did four brothers, 
Ernest, Everette, Elzie and Earl Blair; and a sister, Evelyn Blair McGuire. 
Visitation will be at Geisler Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, tonight from 6 until 9 
and Monday from 8:30 until the funeral at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. 
Burial will follow in Parklawn Cemetery, Hammond.

SAULS, MAGGIE AUDEEN STEELE  

Maggie Audeen Steele Sauls, 86, died at Belle Maison Nursing. She was native of 
Rawls Springs, Miss., and a former resident of Live Oak Assisted Living Home, 
Hammond. She was also a resident of Hattiesburg and the Oak Grove community of 
Purvis, Miss. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Audeen Hall of Killian; her 
brother, Floyd Steele of Rawls Springs, Miss.; two grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Sauls 
of Hattiesburg; three brothers, three sisters, and her parents, Ollie Tucker and 
Mose Steele. Burial will be in Hattiesburg. Quigley-Moore Funeral Home is in 
charge.
