A resident of Hammond and a former resident of Baker for 26 years, he died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001, at Summit Hospital. He was 70 and a native of Bennington, Vt. He was a retired welder and a retired U.S. Navy veteran, with 20 years of service. Visiting at Baker Funeral Home chapel, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Saturday. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Survived by his wife, Artie Jean Scarbo, Hammond; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Mike Smith, Pride; a son and daughter- in-law, Christopher and Roxanne Scarbo, Baton Rouge; a sister, Carolyn Rousseau, Bennington, Vt.; a brother, Francis Scarbo, Kissimmee, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Theresa Scarbo; and a brother, Fredrick Scarbo. He was a member of Central Baptist Church.
