She was born in Baton Rouge on Sept. 21, 1937, to Anthony "Brother" Polito and Ida Belle Pittman Polito. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in 1955 and Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School in 1958. Dedicated to helping others, she worked for more than 40 years as a registered nurse in Livingston, St. Helena and Tangipahoa parishes. She originated and was director of nursing for 19 years of Hood Memorial Hospital Home Health, from which she retired in 2002. Visitation at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, on Tuesday, July 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Helena Catholic Church, Amite, on Wednesday, July 20, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Michael Agnello. Interment in Amite Memorial Gardens, Amite. She is survived by three daughters, Toni Stevens, Karen Volkmann and Michelle Ellzey, all of Amite; three sons, Ronnie Sceroler Jr., Kingwood, Texas, Randy Sceroler, Henderson, Texas, and Brett Sceroler, Ponchatoula; three sisters, Jackie Hood, Denham Springs, Vickie Harris, Walker, and Darilynn Gayle, Kingwood; mother, Faye Bridges Polito, Walker; 14 grandchildren, Travis Jacob Sceroler, Bryn Elise Sceroler, Logan Michelle Sceroler, Casey Spears Rowdon, Beau Spears, Jerod Stevens, Jace Stevens, Todd Sceroler Jr., Brendan Myles Sceroler, Kyle Benjamin Volkmann, Joshua Tyler Volkmann, Cole Anthony Sceroler, Hunter Ellzey and Haley Ellzey; seven great-grand- children, Randi Elizabeth Rowdon, Hanna Noelle Rowdon, Addison Delaney Sceroler, Courtney Stevens, Laney Stevens, Lexie Miller and Tyler Miller. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Hood, Mickey Graphia, Frank Manno Jr. and Ed Harris. (May 13, 1937 - May 22, 2013) Ronald Joseph Sceroler, Sr., a resident of Springfield passed away peacefully at Hood Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. He was born on May 15, 1937 to Andrew and Eunice Sceroler in Baton Rouge. He graduated Catholic High School in 1956 and joined the United States Marine Corps. He returned to marry his high-school sweetheart, Jo Marie Polito in 1958 and was married for 27 years. They had 6 children together, Ronnie, Toni, Randy, Karen, Brett, and Michelle. He later married Donice Hayden. He is survived by his brother, Andrew J. Sceroler, Sr.; children, Ronnie Sceroler, Jr. and wife, Sherri, Toni Stevens and husband, J.D., Randy Sceroler and wife, Debbie, Karen Sceroler Volkmann, Brett Sceroler and wife, Misti, Michelle Ellzey and husband, Lyle; grandchildren, Jake, Bryn, Logan, Casey, Beau, Jerod, Jake, Todd, Brendon, Kyle, Joshua, Cole, Jack, Trace, Haley and Hunter as well as multiple great-grandchildren; Donice's children, Lisa Book and Babs DeLude, Helena, Montana. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jo Marie Polito Sceroler and second wife, Donice "Mama D" Sceroler; and parents, Andrew Sceroler, Sr. and Eunice Bates Sceroler.
