Visitation will be at Lewiston Baptist Church from 6 PM until 9 PM Friday, September 28, 2007 and after 9 AM Saturday, September 29, 2007. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday at the church with Rev. Russell Kirland officiating. He was a retired carpenter, member of Carpenters Union Local 1098, member of Doyle Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Eva Wibel Schenk; stepdaughter, Alice Coincon; two stepsons, Lance and Merle Fontenot; two brothers, George Schenk Jr. and Roy R. Schenk; two grand- children and three stepgrandchildren. His first wife, Thelma Blount Schenk, preceded him in death as did a son, Russell H. Schenk, and two sisters, Margie Brewer and Edna Dixon. The Rev. James Pitts and the Rev. Cleo Milano conducted the funeral service Sunday afternoon at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, and burial was in Old Red Oak Cemetery, Livingston.
