George was born on Sunday, November 21, 1948, in New Orleans. Surviving are wife, Linn Carter Scherer, son, George Michael Scherer, brother & sister-in-law, Jimmy and Mickey Scherer, sisters, Jan Scherer Songy and Peggy Scherer Gennardo, brother & sister-in-law, David S. and Jeanine Scherer, also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Scherer II and Carolyn Dendinger Scherer, brother-in-law, Sammy Gennardo. Friends will be received Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Tuesday, at 11:00 am. James "Jamie" Dendinger Scherer, Jr., of Hammond, Louisiana passed away, November 15th., 2010 at his home at the young age of 30. Jamie was loved dearly by his mom, Mary Ellen Scherer, Dr. Daryl Westmoreland, his dad and stepmother Jimmy and Mickey Scherer, and his sister and brother-in-law Lindsey and Mark Palmer. He left behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by George and Carolyn Scherer and Paul and Mary Margaret Maurin. Jamie was a talented athlete who later became a skilled craftsman that loved working with his hands. He will forever be remembered for his kind spirit and generous heart. Friends will be received Thursday, November 18, 2010 from 9:30 am - 11:30 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Services will be held at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Thursday, at 11:30 AM.
