SCHIARO, EMILE 
A resident and native of Hammond, he died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at North
Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was 82, born Feb. 20, 1923, to the late
Frank and Leona Cardinale Sciara. He was a member of the Knights of
Columbus John F. Kennedy Council 2952 in Hammond and was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Scalia Schiaro
of Hammond; daughter, Leona Schiaro Prugh of Hammond; son, Emile Wayne
Schiaro of Hammond; two sisters, Mary Recotta of Hammond and Angie
Galladora of Tickfaw; brother, Alphonse "Cotton" Sciara of Portage Ind.;
five granddaughters, a grandson and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in
death by his two brothers, Joe and Vincent Sciara; and two sisters, Frances
Sciara Orrell and Jennie Sciara Leto. Friends will be received at Holy
Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, on Thursday, Feb. 9, from 8 a.m. until Mass
of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery,
