A resident of Amite, he died at 10:18 p.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. He was born March 28, 1922 in Amite and was 91 years of age. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Anne Catalanotto Schillage, Amite; daughter, Kathy Faison, Amite; son, Joseph J. She was born on Tuesday, December 19, 1922 in Hammond, daughter of the late John and Anna Tummello Madonia. Surviving are 2 sons, Dominick Schillage, Salvadore Schillage; 2 daughters, Josephine Ann Schillage Glasscock, Annie Marie Schillage Moschitta; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters, Josie Penzato, Lena Zappula, Katie LaRocca, Rosie Black; and 2 brothers, Ralph Madonia, Salvadore Madonia. She is preceded in death by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Schillage and a son, John Schillage. Friends will be received Thursday, June 26, 2008, from 8:30 am until the service begins at 10:00 am at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond.
