A retired security officer for Southeastern Louisiana University and a resident of Kentwood, he died at noon Sunday, Sept. 12, 1999, at his home. He was 90 and a native of Mount Hermon. He was a U.S. Marine Corps and a U.S. Army veteran. Visiting at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Spring Creek, from 9 a.m. until religious services at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Danny Smith. Interment in Spring Creek Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Ona Gill Schillings, and a daughter, Glenda J. Schillings, both of Kentwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes Gill, Doris Schillings and Edna Fish; two brothers, Pete Schillings and Doc Schillings; and a daughter, Linda Schillings.
