SCHMALTZ, RODNEY J.  SR. 

METAIRIE - Rodney J. Schmaltz Sr., 66, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001. 
He was a native of the New Orleans area, and a retired lieutenant with the Jefferson 
Parish Fire Department, serving for 30 years. 
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Robertson Schmaltz; children, Glenda Schmaltz 
Kirsch, Sheryl Schmaltz McCoy and Rodney Schmaltz Jr.; seven grandchildren and 
one great-grandchild; His parents, Elvin and Vera Mindrop Schmaltz, preceded him 
in death. 
The funeral was held Thursday night at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Metairie. 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Magdalen Church, Metairie, or 
St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ponchatoula.
