Born in Tickfaw, she was a homemaker and served as an election commissioner at the polls in Baton Rouge. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Georgiann and Sal Impastato of Metairie, Joan "Dee Dee" Williams of Las Vegas, Ann "Newie" and John Williams of Denham Springs, and Sue and Bruce Kaffenberger of Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry "Hank" and Cleo Schopfer III of Dallas and John and Donna Schopfer of Bayou Pigeon; sister, Margaret Spitale; two brothers, Hillary and John Iverstine Jr.; 13 grandchildren, Shelley Farrell, Melissa Sims, Annie, Cheryl and Maria Williams, Henry Schopfer IV, Myles and Christopher Schopfer, Troy and Travis Williams, Kevin Kaffenberger, and Colby and Rachel Schopfer; 12 great-grandchildren; and a stepgranddaughter, Britt Lindsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry George Schopfer Jr.; parents, John and Ethel Iverstine; sister, Lorenza Inzenga; and two brothers, Amile "Pete" and Joe "Pap" Iverstine. Visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Miles Walsh, celebrant.
